Is Spiderman Lotus Cancelled: Latest VFX Scenes Leaked And Other Rumours

spiderman lotus cancelled

Due to his record-breaking performances on the big screen, Spider-Man is still very well-liked in the mainstream media. However, there have been several controversies involving Marvel’s web-slinger throughout the past year.

This is specifically from the scrapped Spider-Man: Lotus movie, which is unrelated to Peter Parker’s exploits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or any of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe tales.

In the first trailer for Spider-Man: Lotus, which was released in October 2021 and received a tonne of views on YouTube, it was stated that the movie’s plot revolved around Peter Parker dealing with the loss of Gwen Stacy.

However, Lotus’ release was postponed as a result of contentious comments made by the movie’s star and director, which infuriated both fans and the cast and crew.

It seems exceedingly doubtful that fans will ever see the finished product of a fan-made film that actually showed promise among comic-book movie titans like Marvel and DC because this movie is now entangled in so much controversy.

However, a brand-new trailer that recently went online demonstrates some of the VFX work that was finished for Spider-Man: Lotus, providing an incredible glimpse at this distinct web-slinging adventure.

What is actually Spiderman: Lotus?

A fan film called Spider-Man: Lotus was made by Gavin J. Konop, who also wrote, directed, and co-wrote the script with Sean Thomas Reid and Warden Wayne.

Spider-Man: Lotus’ official summary, as disclosed by the project’s IMDB page, is as follows:

Following the tragic death of his former girlfriend – seemingly caused by his own attempt to save her – Peter Parker (Warden Wayne) lingers in his guilt of the past, questioning whether the curse of his alter ego should be buried for good. When he’s met by the news that a terminally ill child has requested to meet Spider-Man, Peter contemplates the decision to comfort him in his final days.”

The fan film is expected to premiere sometime in 2022, and the first poster was issued in August 2021. However, the project is currently receiving unfavourable publicity and may be shelved.

Spiderman: Lotus VFX Revealed

A little more than thirty seconds of video highlighting the visual effects work done on the fan-made movie Spider-Man: Lotus was shared online by VFX artist Max Aurnhammer.

The premiere of the movie had to be cancelled due to racist messages that were discovered online from two of its leading creators.

This was a portion of a more extensive presentation that explained the backstory of the Lotus release and how everything went wrong.

The pictures include some breathtaking video of Spider-Man swinging through New York City, complete with his web-shooting and sound effects to make the moment stand out and be memorable.

Spiderman Lotus: Low Budget But Great VFX Work

In light of the fact that this Spider-Man movie was produced with a budget of just more than $25,000, the material that was brought to the forefront in this film is actually rather astounding.

Naturally, without the millions of dollars that Marvel and Sony have at their disposal, not as much web-slinging action can be portrayed on camera, and this iteration of Spider-Man does not include any scenes of wall-crawling or fighting crime.

No of how much money the film made, it looks as though it would have been able to attract a significant number of viewers almost immediately had it been produced with the resources that were available.

It’s terrible to see that this movie won’t be shown in theatres, especially considering that there are currently no hints as to when the live-action Spider-Man will make his next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, despite the fact that this film was created by fans of the character specifically for other fans of the character, the creatives behind it did the right thing when upsetting tweets from the film’s actor and director were made public.

It is my hope that this will serve as a signal of encouragement to creatives who put in a lot of hard work and want to be a part of a fan-made film like this one, so that fans can continue to celebrate the characters from the Marvel universe in a manner that is all their own.

Is Spiderman Lotus: Cancelled?

Because writer and actor Warden Wayne is currently facing backlash for racist social media statements, there is a chance that the Spider-Man: Lotus television show will be cancelled.

In addition to writing for the production, Wayne also appears in it as the character Peter Parker, better known as Spider-Man.

On June 18, 2022, after some of Wayne’s older tweets were brought to light and distributed over social media, he was subjected to criticism.

After waiting one more day, Wayne addressed the posts in a message that was posted on Twitter:

Spiderman: Lotus’ Writer-Director Response

Gavin J. Konop, the writer and director of Spider-Man: Lotus, has been accused of giving up on the crowdfunded fan film after several claims of racism were made against him and Lotus star Warden Wayne.

Followers noted that Konop had cancelled his personal Twitter account after taking a sabbatical from social media since the racism claims started in June 2022, which sparked the charges.

Many supporters voiced dissatisfaction over the fact that people who donated to the Spider-Man: Lotus campaign lost their money and would not receive the finished product as promised.

The writer-director was contacted for an explanation after Twitter user @luffymarcomin observed that Konop’s Instagram account was still live and said, “This radio silence and deletion of your Twitter profile isn’t filling me with confidence.”

Spider-Man: Lotus would be launched, Konop informed the fan, adding that he would provide “updates on my YouTube channel when I have them.”
