Jennifer Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation, made several references to the Walt Disney Company’s centennial celebration during the large panel.
That was held by the studio and was dedicated to the upcoming films that will be released by the company over the next few years.
The key to success was coming up with original ideas. Both Walt Disney Animation and Pixar have expressed a wish to modernise their productions in light of the passage of three years since the last time viewers were able to make themselves comfortable in Hall D23.
Pete Docter, the Chief Creative Officer of Pixar, stated that the epidemic caused the studio to think “what’s our mission,” and based on the footage from both companies.
There is a desire to make that purpose excellent narrative and A-list performers voicing famous characters. Check more about Inside Out 2 below.
About Inside Out
The movie, which was released in 2015, focused on the internal experiences of a young girl named Riley.
Riley’s head is inhabited by Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Bill Hader), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Anger (Lewis Black), who are responsible for her sentiments and guide her through the intricacies of growing up and moving to an entirely new city.
The conflict between Joy and Sadness causes Riley to unintentionally lose some of her most important memories, which forces Joy and Sadness to go on a mission deeper into Riley’s head in order to find those memories and rescue them.
This raises the stakes significantly. Pete Docter, who currently serves as the chief creative officer of Pixar, is responsible for directing the movie. It was acclaimed for the varied approach it took toward dealing with feelings and memories.
Inside Out 2 Announcement
This year’s ceremony focused on a variety of shows but showed relatively little video overall, in contrast to the 2019 ceremony, which made “Frozen 2” the main attraction and featured a musical performance as well as a clip.
The most shocking revelation was made by Amy Poehler, who, along with Pete Docter, revealed that a sequel to the film “Inside Out,” which was released in 2015, has been given the go-ahead.
Kelsey Mann, the filmmaker who was responsible for “The Good Dinosaur,” will be taking the helm, while Meg LeFauve will be coming back to write the story. The first movie focused on a young girl named Riley who was in her pre-teen years and the feelings that exist within her psyche.
Expected Inside Out 2 Plot
When the sequel begins, Riley will be an older adolescent, and she will have to deal with all of the messy, confusing emotions that come along with that stage of life.
In addition to the five feelings that were depicted in the previous film, the new one will show some more ones.
This time around, Kelsey Mann, who worked as a story supervisor on Monsters University, will helm the film, and Inside Out screenwriter Meg LeFauve will be responsible for the writing.
It has been claimed that Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling will not reprise their roles as Fear and Disgust.
Inside Out Part 2 And Other Movie Release Plans
In addition, the voices of Phyllis Smith (who played Sadness), Bill Hader (who played Fear), Lewis Black (who played Anger), and Mindy Kaling (who played Disgust) were included in Inside Out. It is not yet known for certain whether any of them will participate in the upcoming sequel.
The first film was a commercial and critical success, grossing close to 860 million dollars throughout the globe, and taking home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 88th Academy Awards.
During the Pixar segment of the panel, it was also revealed that a brand-new original sci-fi cartoon titled Elio will be released in the spring of 2024. The film will star America Ferrera, who is known for her roles in Superstore and Ugly Betty.
In the film, the main character, a young boy of 11 years old whose voice is provided by Yonas Kibreab, makes his initial contact with extraterrestrial beings. After being misidentified as Earth’s intergalactic ambassador, he is forced to make a case for the continued existence of his home planet.
The Toy Story universe was revisited by Pixar earlier this year with the release of the prequel film Buzz Lightyear. The lacklustre performance at the box office seemed to exclude any possibility of a follow-up instalment being produced.
Although there was no confirmation of a sequel to Buzz Lightyear at D23, this does not rule out the possibility that one will be made in the future, as was the case with the Inside Out sequel.
Inside Out 2 Release Date
The feature film is still in the early stages of production, but it will follow Riley as she enters her teenage years and the old and new feelings that govern her life.
Poehler will once again be seen in the role of Joy, the personification of happiness that resides within Riley’s skull.
Sadness was portrayed by Phyllis Smith, while Fear, Disgust, and Anger were each brought to life by Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, and Lewis Black, respectively. It is not known if each and every one of them will be coming back.
The debut of “Inside Out 2” is scheduled for the summer of 2024.
