American professional baseball third baseman Justin Matthew Turner was born in the United States on November 23, 1984. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He also has Major League Baseball experience, having played for the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets. He was a member of the Cal State Fullerton Titans baseball team during his time in college.

The Cincinnati Reds chose him in the seventh round of the 2006 Main League Baseball draught, and he made his debut in the major leagues in 2009. While playing with the Dodgers in 2017, Turner was selected for the All-Star Game and went on to win the Most Valuable Player award for the National League Championship Series.

John and Betsy Turner welcomed Justin Turner into the world in Long Beach, California. He has a sister who is younger. As a shortstop and second baseman while attending Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California, Turner was named to the All-Suburban first team three times.

As a senior, he hit.514 in league play and won league MVP and Most Valuable Player awards. He studied kinesiology at California State University, Fullerton, and played collegiate baseball for the Titans there.

In 2003, he swiftly assumed the starting second base position and went on to get freshman All-American recognition from Baseball America. As a shortstop, he was selected to the 2003 College World Series All-Tournament team.

Turner went 3-for-3 with a home run in the CWS before taking a fastball to the face.The 2004 College World Series was won by Cal State Fullerton against Texas in a two-game final the following year. He represented the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League as a collegiate summer baseball player in 2005.

The New York Yankees selected Turner in the 29th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball draught, but he declined to sign. The Cincinnati Reds made him their seventh-round pick (204th overall) in the 2006 Major League Baseball draught, and they gave him a $50,000 signing bonus.
