Playwright and actor Woodrow Tracy Harrelson was born in the United States on July 23, 1961. In addition to being nominated for three Academy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards, he has won a Primetime Emmy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and received several honours.
First recognised for his performance as bartender Woody Boyd on the NBC comedy Cheers (1985–1993), for which he received a total of five nominations and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
He later received three nominations for Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actor for both The Messenger (2009) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and Best Actor for The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996).

On July 23, 1961, in Midland, Texas, Woodrow Tracy Harrelson was born. His father, Charles, was a hitman, and his mother, Diane, worked as a secretary. Charles was convicted of the 1979 murder of federal judge John H. Wood Jr. after spent five years in jail for the murder of a grain dealer.
He was given two life sentences and passed away from a heart attack in prison in 2007. The couple divorced in 1964. Jordan and Brett were Woody’s two younger siblings, and he has claimed that despite the family’s poverty, there was always food on the table.
