Anthony “Tony” Cavallo Sr., 71, of Plainville, Connecticut, lost his courageous battle against Parkinson’s disease on June 13, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Originally from New Britain, Connecticut, Anthony Cavallo was born on June 15, 1950, to the late Americo and Teresa (Dorio) Cavallo Sr.

While attending Pulaski High School, Anthony met the love of his life, Teresa (DeFeo) Cavallo. They both graduated in 1969.

After earning his Master’s in Education from Central Connecticut State University, Tony Cavallo, better known to his students as “Mr. Cavallo,” began a 45-year teaching career in the New Britain school district.

After retiring in 2009, he was still well-liked by students and faculty at all ten of the district’s elementary schools, where he had previously worked as a teacher, an assistant to the principal, and a substitute. His infectious energy and charisma made him an instant hit.

Over the course of his career, he impacted the lives of thousands of children, and as a result, he was recognized as a Teacher of the Year and with many other accolades for his commitment to education.

Anthony was a devoted spouse, a doting father, and a gleeful “Poppie” to his grandchildren.

Whenever one of his kids or grandkids had a problem, he was the first to jump in and help.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling on vacation with his wife, and sitting in his recliner to watch game programs and old television series.
