Fix For The Oni Operator And Vault Edition Content In Modern Warfare 2!

How to Fix Missing Oni Operator in MW2

Hiro Watanabe, the new Oni Operator, was first seen in a trailer for Modern Warfare 2 that was uploaded to the official Call of Duty channel on YouTube on September 16, 2022.

Warzone Season 5’s Dual Kodachis: Aomi was the Legendary melee weapon used by the fearless samurai in this teaser. A new Weapon Blueprint for the M4 Carbine, an Assault Rifle widely regarded as among the best in the Call of Duty series, was also in the Oni Operator’s hands.

Undoubtedly, many players are excited to get their hands on the new Oni Operator for MW2. Also, this set of Operator and Weapon Blueprints is fully compatible with Warzone 2.0, which is slated for release on November 16, 2022.

That is to say, players can take the ferocious Hiro Watanabe warrior into battle in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone’s battle royale modes. However, as the promotional video on YouTube makes clear, there are a few catch-22s to this package.

A screenshot shown at the 8-second mark of the Modern Warfare 2 Oni Operator Trailer reveals that the Oni Operator, its Weapon Blueprint, and any additional digital goods are PlayStation-only.

On October 28, 2022, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will all have access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but only PlayStation players will have access to Hiro Watanabe and his signature weapons.

Guide to Restoring the Oni Operator for Preorders of Modern Warfare 2 on PS4 and PS5

  • Go to the PlayStation home menu
  • Go to Settings
  • Press Users and Accounts
  • Select Other
  • Press Restore Licenses
  • Go back into MW2 and the Oni Operator should now be available to select if you pre-ordered the game on PS4 or PS5

This update comes directly from the developer, Infinity Ward, and should apply without any additional steps on your part to resolve the issue. If that doesn’t work, a console restart is another option; some players have reported that doing so has unlocked Oni for them.

Many gamers were taken aback by the omission of other features in MW2. The Modern Warfare 2 Battle Pass can’t be found.

In addition, a much-requested gameplay mode is still in development. Just how soon can we expect Hardcore to hit MW2?

Players who pre-order any of the PlayStation 4 digital editions of Modern Warfare 2 will gain access to the Oni Operator upon the game’s release. Those who play on PC and Xbox will be disappointed, of course, but they shouldn’t give up hope just yet.

Ulterior Covert, a YouTube content creator, speculates that the Operator bundle will eventually be made available to users of other platforms, citing similar cases of previously exclusive content becoming broadly available.

Such a claim, however, is not a guarantee, so players shouldn’t get their hopes up until a corresponding announcement is made in the distant future.

Last Words

There have been bugs, of course, but a major problem that started on October 25 left many players unable to even access Modern Warfare 2.

Although the pre-launch update was meant to get players’ installations ready for the full game’s release, many PlayStation players reported that the update rendered their games unplayable.

The update “ruined” the game, as one player put it because they were stuck on the “Installing” screen. A second user experienced the same issue after their PS5 automatically

installed the update, and they were unable to play the game. However, Infinity Ward quickly found a solution and announced it.
