Some Twitter users reportedly took things further last week after rumors spread that DeGeneres’ popular talk show was going to be canceled by spreading false news of DeGeneres’ “death” on the social media platform.

People on social media claimed the host committed suicide over the “cancellation” of her show, the New York Post reports, even though the host is still very much alive.
