You know that Josh, Heather, and Eric have our eternal love and gratitude. Even in the worst of times, you can count on us to be here for you as a source of comfort and strength. For Josh: This is the most challenging post I’ve ever had to write. However, I think it’s important for my loved ones to know what went down the day before.

My son Ryan was in a terrible car accident yesterday, and he tragically lost his life as a result of his injuries. I always thought that the tragedy at the theater would be the hardest thing I’d ever have to go through. However, this issue is far more pressing. Nothing can compare to the pain of losing my son, no matter how hard I try to express it.

Amazingly loyal to his friends, he was a remarkable young man. He loved his family very much and often referred to me as “Pops.” He took great pleasure in making others laugh and were always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He was blessed with a fantastic comical sensibility. His future held great promise for achievement.

I want everyone to go to their homes and give their significant others and children a big bear hug and smooch. Due to the fact that Heather, Eric, and I are still mourning Ryan’s death, I have decided to take a social media hiatus for the time being.

Even though I’ve been through a lot recently, I want you all to know how much I appreciate you and how lucky I am to have such a wonderful network of people who have helped me stay strong. They helped me then, and I have faith that they will help me in the future as well. The Lord bless you
