The return of Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery means that fans will have to wait a while longer for the streaming service.

As a follow-up to their 2019 smash hit, Netflix has decided to give the film a theatrical release, marking the first time a Netflix Original film has been shown in mainstream theatres across the United States and the United Kingdom.

In contrast to the usual case where Netflix films only play in art houses, Glass Onion will have a wide release in theatres for a full week. On Tuesday, November 29th, the last day to see Glass Onion in theatres will pass unless Netflix decides to extend the run (which is highly unlikely).

If you were unable to see Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in theaters, fear not; the film will be available for streaming on Netflix this Friday, December 23. All of us get a holiday treat early on.

Netflix’s Glass Onion will debut on the service on December 23 at midnight PT/3 am ET (UK time), the same time it debuts for all other Netflix originals.

In the sequel, we find Benoit Blanc traveling to a luxurious private estate on a Greek island, where he has apparently been invited by billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) to attend Bron’s annual reunion of his closest group of friends.

Is There A Glass Onion Trailer?

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery received its first official trailer on September 8, 2022, via Netflix. The preview, which clocks in at about a minute and a half, gives us our first look at the film’s overall feel but is noticeably light on plot details.

The trailer features scenes of drinking and dancing, a motorcycle chase, a gunfight, and Dave Bautista in a Speedo. On September 24th, we got a movie preview as well.

On October 10, a second teaser trailer joined the growing collection of promotional videos. In the second teaser, we learn that a mutual friend, Miles Bron, has invited our protagonists and antagonists to a murder mystery party.

It’s implied by his words in the trailer that he’ll be murdered and the partygoers will have to solve the mystery of his suspicious death. The other shots in the clip suggest that the journey to solving this challenge, especially for detective Blanc,

will be exciting and eventful. He says “this is truly delightful” after Bron explains the game to the dinner guests. After that, viewers will see a bunch of cocktails,

a motorcycle racing, and a little dig at setting up a Google alert for the word “movies.” Though the plot twists have yet to be revealed, the previews have shown that no one can be trusted and no one will be spared from danger.

Conclusion

On Friday, December 23rd, Glass Onion will be available to stream on Netflix. For the most part, Netflix flicks become available on the streaming service at 12 a.m. Pacific Time, or 3 a.m. Eastern Time, on the morning of their official theatrical release.
