According to a statement given to CNN by his wife, fellow dancer Allison Holker Boss, the death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the affable DJ for the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” and a dancer who rose to fame on “So You Think You Can Dance,” has been confirmed.

Holker Boss released a statement reading, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us.” Every time Stephen entered a room, it became brighter. For him, life was all about the people around him, and he believed that the best way to lead was with love and light. He was the rock upon which our household rested, the ultimate provider for his wife and children, and a role model for his legions of devoted followers.

She went on to say that “to say he left a legacy would be an understatement,” and that his positive impact would be felt for years to come. Not a day will go by without us remembering him, I’m certain of that. For the sake of myself and our three children, we ask for privacy during this trying time.

Sadly, the LA County Medical Examiner has ruled that the boss committed suicide. On Wednesday, the LA County Coroner’s Office finished its investigation into his death and released its findings.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner, Boss was pronounced dead at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday in the Los Angeles suburb of Encino.

News24 reported that the DJ for the Ellen Show was discovered dead in a LA hotel room by his wife, Allison Holker, who had gone to the police station out of fear for her husband’s safety.

In the meantime, county officials have confirmed to People that the star died on Tuesday at a motel in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. A gunshot wound to the head was the cause of his suicide.

After hearing the tragic news, Holker made sure to honor the actor. She reflected on his life and work, saying, “To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt.”

“I know that we will always remember him with respect.”Finally, as the tributes poured in, she said, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
