CHICAGO — A woman was taken into custody after being accused of stabbing a dog several times while a teenage girl was out for a stroll. In the 6400 block of West Irving Park Road on Monday, 61-year-old Jeanette Olivo was taken into custody. A chihuahua named Bebe, whose owner was a girl 15 years old, was reportedly out for a stroll nearby when the incident occurred.

It is claimed that Olivo stabbed the dog after a brief conversation with the girl, “without warning or provocation.”After allegedly stabbing the 13-year-old dog multiple times, Olivo allegedly chased after the 15-year-old girl and continued to stab the dog. A short time later, she was taken into custody.

Bebe was severely bleeding when police arrived.”He just wants to sit next to you and cuddle because he is always cold,” his family said. We consider him to be a cat because he likes to sleep on the couch.

It has been reported by Bebe’s family that he is doing well after the stabbing. Olivo was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated assault and battery on December 10 for what appears to be an unrelated incident. Bebe was found guilty of both animal cruelty and assault for the stabbing. On Tuesday, the bond court is where Olivo will appear.

His owners, the Macias family, reported that the incident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while he was being walked in front of their home on the 6700 block of West Irving Park Road. The dog’s owners claim they’d never seen the woman before and that she remained silent as their friend was stabbed.

The 15-year-old who was walking Bebe at the time recalled, “I was terrified because I thought I was going to lose him.” She said she didn’t want to reveal her identity because she was afraid for her safety after the stabbing.

According to the girl, she saw someone acting strangely outside the house right away. It was because “she was being a little fussy and acting a little weird,” she explained, that she decided to stay away from her. The girl claims that not long after, the woman followed them and their dog, stabbing Bebe in the stomach with a kitchen knife.

The girl explained, “I proceeded to punch her in the face and she fell to the ground.” When she persisted in trying to stab Bebe, I kicked her; this prompted a scream from next door.
