It was around 11:20 p.m. on South Rhodes Avenue in the 6600 blocks when a sedan drove by and opened fire, killing two men, ages 30 and 28, according to Chicago police.
They say the older man was shot in the chest and the younger man was hit in the buttocks. Both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where their conditions were reported to be stable.
No One Was Under Arrest
During the early hours of Sunday, six people were shot in Chicago, including a 15-year-old boy. The teen was shot in the left leg at around 2 a.m. while walking with another person in the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to Chicago police. Reports from Comer Children’s Hospital indicate that his condition is stable.
Two men, aged 27 and 25, were sitting in a parked car in the 2300 block of West Taylor Street at around 2:25 a.m. when shots were fired from another vehicle, striking both of them. Officials said the elderly man was dropped off at Stroger Hospital after being shot in the right leg. The younger man was brought in by his older brother with a gunshot wound to the back, but he was in good condition when he arrived at the same hospital.
A 24-year-old man was walking in the 9700 block of South Jeffery Boulevard at the same time when shots were fired from a passing black sedan, police said. He drove himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was reported to be stable.
Ten minutes earlier, on the 3600 block of North Newcastle Avenue, someone opened fire on two women, ages 25 and 23, who were standing in the kitchen. Police said the elderly woman was taken to Community First Hospital with a graze to the left knee but was otherwise in good condition. The younger lady got scratched on the left arm but declined medical attention. No perpetrators of any of the attacks had been apprehended.

On Saturday night, a 17-year-old boy’s body was discovered and shot to death in the Near South Side. Near 7 o’clock that evening, Chicago police discovered the boy with a gunshot wound to the head in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in an alley in the 1900 block of South State Street. According to police, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No supplementary data was accessible. There were no detentions.
