After a shooting on Thursday evening in Southeast Washington, District of Columbia, two male victims were reportedly transported to a local hospital for treatment. A shooting was reported to have taken place in the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue Southeast just before 9:30 p.m., and officers were dispatched to the scene.
Officers arrived on the scene and found two individuals, both suffering from gunshot wounds. According to the authorities, the first victim was not found aware or breathing, and he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his discovery. The second man was found to be awake and still breathing when he was discovered. There is currently no new information available from the authorities regarding the condition of the second victim.
Police Looking For Details
After the incident, both victims reportedly required medical attention and were sent to a local hospital to receive it. The police are seeking for a grey Buick that may have been involved in this shooting. Detectives from the Homicide Unit were dispatched to the location.
Police Spokesman Give Updates
Officer Sean Hickman, a spokesman for the police department, stated that officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of 7th Street in Northeast, where it was alleged that another guy had been shot. Hickman stated that the person was transported to a hospital, where it was later determined that they had passed away.
Police Looking For The Suspects
In accordance with a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the incident took place in the 2400 block of Elvans Road shortly after 5 o’clock in the evening. Officers arrived on the scene to discover a man who had been shot and was currently unconscious. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the man to a local hospital for further treatment. It is anticipated that he will live.
The victim has not been recognised, and there is no information available about what may have preceded the incident or led to its aftermath. A day after the shooting, the police distributed photographs of a possible suspect as well as a vehicle that they believe is connected to the incident. The vehicle is a two-door Honda Coupe, according to the description.

According to Darnel Robinson, the commander of the 6th district, multiple gunshots were heard shortly prior to the arrival of law enforcement personnel at the location.
During a press conference, Robinson stated that “based off of the preliminary stages and the footage,” there was an exchange of fire that took place. The department has determined that there were four adolescents involved in the shooting, all of whom escaped the scene after the incident. Robinson stated that three adult males were injured and sent to the hospital as a result of the shooting, and one of them will be prosecuted with carrying a weapon without the appropriate licencing.
