At approximately 7 o’clock on Thursday evening, police were called to a home in the 2100 block of Arlington Avenue, where they found Washington handcuffed and suffering from multiple stab wounds. South Side Slopes and Arlington, two of the city’s neighborhoods, are adjacent to the street.
When Washington’s family didn’t hear from her on Thursday evening, they reportedly went to her house to see if she was okay. According to court documents, that’s when Washington’s father made the 911 call reporting that his daughter had been stabbed and was unconscious.
Cara Cruz, a spokesperson for Pittsburgh Public Safety, explained that “family members who hadn’t heard from her in a while came to the house and they were the ones to discover her inside and call the police.”
The complaint alleges that early on Friday morning, Fitzgerald texted a picture of a stabbed Washington from inside her home to an unnamed recipient, along with the message “this what y’all got her.”It was on the second floor of the house that police found the weapon they believed was used.
According to the complaint, Fitzgerald allegedly sent two other witnesses photos of Washington and another man via text message on Thursday. Fitzgerald’s whereabouts were unknown, and anyone with information was asked to contact the police at (412) 323-7800 or 911. Fitzgerald was 5 feet and 7 inches tall, and approximately 200 pounds, according to the police.
