what happened to ariana grande 1

Outside of the May 22 Ariana Grande concert, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives, killing twenty-two people. Survivor Freya Lewis kicked off the race in honor of her best friend who was killed in the terrorist attack.

The 19-year-old, who had to relearn how to walk again after being injured, expressed “tired but happy” sentiments after the run. Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham, who also attended, used the word “poignant” to describe the event.

He argued that the attack “could have divided us but it did the opposite – it brought us together.”He predicted that “today will be poignant” because “I remember running around these streets [in the 2017 Great Manchester Run] with tears streaming down my face just because of the number of people who were out” after the attack.

Ms. Lewis reflected on the loss of her best friend Nell Jones, who passed away when they were both 14 years old, saying, “to have her not part of it is still so odd.”There was a wonderful vibe there. There wasn’t much in the way of pressure, and I had a general sense that I could pursue whatever interests me.

On the way around, I reflected on Nell and the medical facility where Freya was cared for. It met my needs exactly and was excellent.

The Female Victim Of The Manchester Arena Bombing Was Found Dead In Her Bedroom

Eve Aston, 20, was found dead by her father in her bedroom in Finchfield, Wolverhampton, last month. Her parents are currently raising money to cover the costs associated with her funeral. Her death was mysterious, but her loved ones said she had been having trouble sleeping and dealing with loud noises ever since attending that concert.

Amanda Aston, Eve’s mother, wrote on the family’s GoFundMe page, “The Manchester attack took its toll as Eve was present, however, the strength of Ariana Grande’s music got her through alongside her dad who was with her at the time and guided her out.”

She went on to call Eve “loud,” “funny,” “beautiful,” and “caring,” and to say that “everyone that she knew would always be put before herself, she was such a selfless person.”

A total of £5,625 has been donated to “her heartbroken family who did not expect to arrange their daughter’s funeral as she was only 20 years old,” surpassing the initial goal of £4,500 set for the GoFundMe page.

Aston told the Birmingham Mail that her daughter, who had been described as a “jolly soul” with many friends, developed post-traumatic stress disorder after being on the opposite side of the Manchester Arena concert venue from where the bomb was detonated.

Aston elaborated by saying that Eve had wanted a job working with cars but had been depressed and unable to take the first step toward pursuing that goal. A lot of weight had been lost, and she “seemed to be getting back to her old self” in recent weeks, she said.

“It’s like a nightmare,” she said with tears in her eyes. As if to say, “Got ya!” as she walks back in, she looks like she’s about to exit the room.

This summer, an investigation into the police and security response to the attack on the Manchester Arena concluded, finding multiple failures that cost lives on the night of the attack, including missed opportunities to identify the suicide bomber, Salman Abedi, as a threat.

The mother of one of the victims has advocated for the passage of “Martyn’s law,” which requires venues and local authorities to have action plans against terror attacks. The government is currently debating whether or not to make this a mandate.

What Happened To Ariana Grande

Salman Abedi, 22, exploded a homemade bomb in the arena’s lobby at around 10:30 p.m., as concertgoers were leaving the venue.

People were knocked off their feet and widespread panic ensued when a bomb went off in the foyer, which connected the main arena to the nearby Victoria station.

What Happened To Ariana Grande

The arena’s main entrance, the foyer, which served as a ticket office and provided access to the parking lot and Victoria Station, was always bustling with activity.

Those nearby reported hearing an explosion and seeing a flash of flame. Metal nuts and bolts were scattered among bodies in the arena’s foyer, as seen in photos taken after the incident.

Screams could be heard from the streets and the sound of sirens could be heard from inside the venue in disturbing video footage.

What Did The Open Investigation Reveal?

The investigation, which began in September 2020, uncovered several opportunities for those in charge of security to avert the attack from May of 2017.

The inquiry’s chairman, Sir John Saunders, concluded that “serious shortcomings” existed. According to the public inquiry, Salman Abedi, the suicide bomber at the Manchester Arena, should have been recognized as a security threat the night of the attack.

According to Mr. Saunders, “but the loss of life and injury is highly likely to have been less” if Abedi had been stopped before he could detonate his device.

Among the lost possibilities were:

  • Public member Christopher Wild was “fobbed off” by Showsec stewards after reporting Abedi 15 minutes before the explosion.
  • An additional Showsec steward tried to alert the control room via radio eight minutes before the attack began, but was unsuccessful.
  • Abedi was able to conduct his “hostile reconnaissance” trips to the arena before detonating the bomb without raising suspicion because of a gap in the coverage of the stadium’s CCTV cameras.
  • Showsec guards should have recognized Abedi as a potential threat, but they weren’t prepared enough to do so.
  • Showsec employees failed to conduct a thorough patrol shortly before the concert ended, which would have allowed them to identify Abedi as a threat and prevent the tragedy.

The Manchester Arena’s operator, SMG, expressed “deep regret” in response to the public inquiry report. Greater Manchester Police acknowledged making mistakes on the night of the bombing,

but they claimed that an incident commander’s “catastrophic failures” in the early stages of the response were “not foreseeable.” The security company Showsec claimed that “lessons had been learned.”

Conclusion

Ariana Grande has revealed that she has shifted her attention to other projects, including The Voice, r.e.m. beauty, and Wicked, about which she is extremely enthusiastic. The casting of Grande as Glinda in the highly anticipated two-part film was announced in November 2021.
