What happened in the Season 4 end?
In the penultimate episode of the fourth season, titled “Close to Home,” viewers were given the opportunity to witness the kidnapping of Gordon’s ex-wife Beth by her kidnappers, who demanded that Gordon execute his former business colleague Whelan in prison. After realising that Ray Nasano, who was also responsible for the death of Gordon’s sister Kim, was the blackmailer.
Gordon requests assistance from Magnum and Higgins in order to free Whelan from custody. Beth is safe and Ray is apprehended, but Gordon is dismissed from his position at the HPD. While all is going on, Suzy gives birth to a baby girl. Higgins and Magnum are shown kissing and expressing their love for one another in the final scene.

In a much anticipated return to NBC broadcasting, the first episode of Magnum P.I. season five will air on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 9/8c. Susan Rovner, the Chairman of Entertainment Content at NBCUniversal, stated in a news release that “Magnum P.I. comes to us with a devoted fanbase already in place that we aim to cultivate.”
The next fifth season is going to be broken up into two parts, each consisting of ten episodes. The first segment will premiere on February 19, and Guggenheim stated that he was unsure of when the second segment would be broadcast.
