The two former 29-year-olds posted an Instagram statement and photo of themselves smiling together announcing their breakup on Friday night. This is how it all started: “We’re breaking up, and it breaks our hearts to tell you. Anyone who has ever loved knows how difficult and heartbreaking this choice was.”
“Social media is a highlight reel, and much of our experiences together have been kept private, so we understand that there will likely be a lot of questions about this choice. While we have shared a lot of laughter and smiles over the past year, we also want to be honest and say that there has been a great deal of suffering “The two kept going.
They did not explain why they were no longer together, but they did say that “external forces” were to blame.
As a couple, you say, “We know that no healthy relationship comes without its struggles, but we have realized that we were not prepared for the external forces that hindered our ability to heal as individuals and as a couple.”

Susie continued her explanation that it wouldn’t make sense to sleep with anyone else if the potential partner was in love with her: “If you feel like you’re in love with me, it doesn’t make sense to sleep with somebody else.” Clayton replied, “I promised myself before I did this that I wouldn’t fall in love with multiple women, but it’s happened.”
Clayton admitted that he would have acted otherwise had he realized his actions would “be a deal-breaker” for Susie, but it was too late to make amends. With tears in her eyes, Susie left the room.
In any case, Susie did come back for the finale’s rose ceremony. After a fight between Clayton, Rachel, and Gabby, Susie returned to the show and was the only contestant left for the final rose ceremony.
Susie tells Clayton, “I have made the decision to leave Iceland alone,” calling it a “devastating” conclusion. “After giving it some serious thought, I’ve concluded that neither you nor I are the right person for each other.”

It is with great regret that we must inform you of our decision to end our relationship. It was a tough decision that wasn’t made lightly; anyone who has ever loved will understand.
There will undoubtedly be many concerns brought up by this choice, and we anticipate that. Obviously, what you see on social media is the best of the best, and we’ve kept a lot of our time together under wraps, which I’m sure the vast majority of our friends and followers will understand.
We’ll agree on one thing, though: despite all the joy we’ve shared over the past 12 months, there has also been a great deal of suffering.
Though we’re well aware that any relationship will experience ups and downs, we weren’t prepared for the external factors that impeded our ability to mend as individuals and as a couple.
Both Echard and Evans have stated that they intend to “continue working on ourselves so that we can be the best versions of ourselves going forward.” They continue to support each other even though they are both going through what can only be described as “not an easy time.”
Final Words
Echard and Evans are not engaged, but they are living together in Virginia and taking things slowly. During the same time period, Windey and Recchia will each get a second chance at love on national television as the first co-leads of the upcoming season of The Bachelorette, which will premiere this summer.
