After 14 Major League Seasons Dexter Fowler Retires At 36

William Dexter Fowler, a former professional baseball outfielder from the United States, was born on March 22, 1986. He participated in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, and Houston Astros. He took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics as a baseball player for the American national team.

On Tuesday, former Angel Dexter Fowler made the announcement that he will be retiring from baseball. The outfielder made the revelation on Twitter, noting that he is, among other things: “It is found here. I’m going to hang my cleats up now.”

The contract worth $82.5 Million

The next year, Fowler received the most lucrative contract of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals. The agreement was for five years and $82.5 million, and he would remain with the Cardinals until he was transferred to the Angels in 2021. Unfortunately for the Halos, he would only participate in seven games before sustaining an injury that would terminate his season.

Fowler was born in Atlanta, and he completed his high schooling at Milton, which is located in the state of Georgia. In 105 at-bats during his time at Milton, Fowler had a batting average of.457 and hit 14 home runs.

After making his initial commitment to Miami, Fowler turned down invitations to play college baseball from Harvard and the University of Miami in order to pursue a career in major league baseball. Fowler had never hit left-handed until he signed with the Rockies; he had always done so in the past.

During the 2008 season, Fowler was playing in the minor leagues when he was selected to compete for the United States of America in the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. In the end, he helped lead the United States to an Olympic bronze medal victory by leading his team to an 8-4 victory over Japan in the bronze medal game.
