Known by his stage name, Criss Angel, American Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos is a magician, illusionist, and musician. Though Angel got his start in the Big Apple, he now makes his home in the Las Vegas Valley.
Criss Angel Believe and Criss Angel Mindfreak are two of the Cirque du Soleil show at the Luxor casino in Las Vegas for which he is best known. Approximately $150 million was contributed to the local economy by the show in 2010.
After it ended in 2015, it was replaced in 2016 by Mindfreak LIVE! (the show is partly produced by Cirque du Soleil; however, the directive rights are entirely with Criss Angel). In 2014, he also appeared on Criss Angel Magicjam, which aired on NBC, and Criss Angel BeLIEve, which aired on Spike TV.
In addition, he has set a number of world records at his magic shows, for which he now holds multiple Guinness World Records. In 2009, he was named Magician of the Decade, and in 2010, he was named Magician of the Century, by the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Criss Angel Early Years And Education
On December 19, 1967, Criss Angel entered this world at Hempstead General Hospital on Long Island, New York. He has Greek ancestry. At the age of nine, Angel and his family relocated from Elmont to East Meadow, New York. His dad’s name was John Sarantakos. His businesses included a diner and a doughnut shop.
At the tender age of seven, he became fascinated by magic, and by the time he was 12 years old, he had already performed his first show, for which he was paid $10. Back when he was a kid, Harry Houdini was his idol. Angel began performing at East Meadow, New York area restaurants at the age of 14, including the Wine Gallery.
When Angel was young, he performed his first major illusion for his family by making his mother appear to float in the family den. For his opening act, he initially sought assistance from animal breeder and reality TV host Marc Morrone in procuring and acclimating a pair of doves.
He graduated from East Meadow High School with the intention of becoming a professional magician, despite his parents’ wishes for him to enrol in college. Angel “went on the road and started touring with other travelling shows,” as reported by Biography Channel.
While on the road, he would visit public libraries in an effort to educate himself further on the subject of magic. He was also educated in the performing arts, martial arts, music, and the occult.

It was in 2012 that Criss Angel and Shaunyl Benson began dating. Together with his longtime girlfriend, Criss Angel welcomed their first child, a son they named Johnny, in 2014.
Their second child, a son they named Xristos, was born to them in 2019. But at around the age of two, Johnny was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Even though he responded well to treatment, the disease returned when he was five years old.

Ira Engel was dating a woman named Joann Winkler in the year 2000. They had a rocky relationship that ended in divorce in 2006. He started dating Solly Sadon in November of 2008, and the couple split up in February 2009.
In 2012, Rihanna’s manager, Ari Gold, went ahead and dated Hailey Senson. The couple welcomed their first son, Henry, in 2014, and their second, Alexander Ristos, in 2019.
