William Shakespeare Death

Shakespeare was a playwright, poet, and actor from England. He is largely recognised as the greatest English-language author and the greatest playwright in history. He is frequently referred to as the “Bard of Avon” and England’s national poet (or simply “the Bard”). A total of 39 plays, 154 sonnets, three lengthy narrative poems, and a few additional verses.

Some of whose authorship is disputed, make up his extant works, including collaborations. His plays are produced more frequently than those of any other playwright since they have been translated into every significant living language. He is still regarded as the most significant writer in the English language, and scholars continue to analyse and reinterpret his writings. See the post for additional information on his life.

Shakespeare was born in a wealthy family

William Shakespeare Birth

Shakespeare was the son of Mary Arden, a wealthy landowner family, and John Shakespeare, an alderman and successful glover (glove-maker) from Snitterfield in Warwickshire. He was baptised on April 26, 1564, in Stratford-upon-Avon, where he was born.

His exact birthday is unclear, although Saint George’s Day, on April 23, is traditionally celebrated on that day. Shakespeare passed away on this day in 1616, thus biographers have found appeal in this date, which can be linked to William Oldys and George Steevens. He was the last surviving son and the third of eight children.

Shakespeare’s married life

William Shakespeare married life

At the age of 18, Shakespeare wed Anne Hathaway in 1582. She was 26 years old. The wealthy farmer Richard Hathaway of Hewlands Farm in adjacent Shottery was the father of Anne. Susanna, their first child, was born in May 1583. In February 1585, Hamnet and Judith, twins, were baptised. In the village of Shottery, Anne’s house, now known as Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, still stands.

Very little is known about Shakespeare between 1585 and 1592. These are commonly known as “The Lost Years.” But by 1592, we know he was in London because Robert Greene, a rival dramatist, singled him out in his caustic treatise A Groats-worth of Witte, written on his deathbed.

Shakespeare was just 52 when he died

William Shakespeare died

400 years ago, on April 23, 1616, in the little Warwickshire town where he was born, William Shakespeare passed away. He was 52 years old, which is still young (or youngish, at least) by contemporary standards, even though his death would not have appeared like an untimely demise to his contemporaries.

In England during this time, the majority of people who made it through childhood were likely to pass away before turning 60, and old age was a state one entered at what could be considered a relatively young age now.

No Memorial gathering for Great Poet of all time

There were no memorial services performed in the country’s capital, where he had started his career, or, it would appear, anywhere else in the nation. As far as we are aware, neither the group of players he had commanded for so long nor King James, his patron and protector, who he had faithfully served, took the time to mourn his departure.

Shakespeare cause of Death is a mystery

Shakespeare’s cause of death is unknown, but there is a belief that he passed away after getting sick after drinking excessively with fellow playwrights Ben Jonson and Michael Drayton.

Shakespeare was ill for more than a month before to his passing, according to a more compelling explanation. Shakespeare died at the age of only 52, and despite all the speculations, the reason for his passing will probably never be known.

To Conclude

Concerning William Shakespeare, only a very little amount of information is known for certain. On April 23, what was probably his birthday, he passed away at the age of 52. On April 25th, his funeral and burial took place in the Holy Trinity Church in Stratford.
