Dragon Ball has impacted Eiichiro Oda
On January 1st, 1975, Eiichiro Oda was born in Kumamoto, Japan. He claimed that in order to escape having to obtain a “real career,” he made the decision to become a manga artist when he was four years old. The Dragon Ball television series by Akira Toriyama has had the most impact on him.
He recalls that Vicky the Viking, a well-liked TV animated series, most likely served as the catalyst for his fascination in pirates. He offered Pandaman as a character for Yudetamago’s legendary wrestling manga Kinnikuman. In addition to appearing in a chapter of the manga, Pandaman would later make another appearance as a frequent cameo character in Oda’s own works.

In 2004, Oda wed Chiaki Inaba, the actress who had previously portrayed Nami during theatrical performances of One Piece at Jump Festa. After having worked together for Watsuki as assistants, Oda, Hiroyuki Takei, and Mikio It continue to be excellent friends.
In addition to this, he mentioned on multiple occasions that he is friendly with Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro, the writer of the Toriko series. Oda considered Masashi Kishimoto to be both a friend and an adversary in their relationship.
He began working at just 17
Oda, who has been a devoted writer and illustrator since youth, started working for Shueisha’s Shonen Jump at the age of 17, and is now among the most well-known mangaka in the world, bringing home an estimated 3.1 billion yen (US$26 million) annually.
Despite his busy schedule, he consistently communicates with his followers through formal interviews as well as more casual means, like his SBS columns. After finishing One Piece, Oda said in One Piece Blue: Grand Data File that he wanted to write a manga about robots. But he later declared that his physical health would not allow him to draw any more long-runners.

Cross Epoch is a one-shot manga that was co-created by Akira Toriyama and Oda and published in 2007. It features characters from both of their respective series, Dragon Ball and One Piece. They each created a character for the Gaist Crusher video game in 2013, which was released in 2013.

In 2013, he was admitted to the hospital with a peritonsillar abscess and remained there for around two weeks before being released. After waiting a year, he finally had his issue treated surgically by having his tonsils removed.
