Officials in Chicago have confirmed that three individuals, including a 1-year-old girl and two teenagers, were shot and murdered on a highway late Sunday night.
Illinois State Police said in a statement that no one has been taken into custody in connection with the incident that occurred approximately 10:37 p.m.
local time on Interstate 57 near 111th Street and caused the northbound lanes to be closed for several hours.
Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the spot, while four more were taken to the hospital, according to the police statement.

As of approximately 4:20 AM on Monday, police reported that northbound I-95 lanes between 127th and 111th streets were once again accessible to traffic.
