Officials in Chicago have confirmed that three individuals, including a 1-year-old girl and two teenagers, were shot and murdered on a highway late Sunday night.

Illinois State Police said in a statement that no one has been taken into custody in connection with the incident that occurred approximately 10:37 p.m.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the spot, while four more were taken to the hospital, according to the police statement.

As of approximately 4:20 AM on Monday, police reported that northbound I-95 lanes between 127th and 111th streets were once again accessible to traffic.

Police discovered the bodies of two people who had been shot in the Chatham apartments on the South Side.

Chicago police said a friend who had been looking for them located them on the 900 block of East 80th Street.

According to authorities, both victims were found with gunshot wounds to the head and later declared dead at the scene. Yet, details such as their ages and identities were withheld at first.

In the Grand Crossing area of the South Side, a young man, aged 15, was shot. On the 7200 block of South Lafayette Avenue at around 12:10 p.m.,

Officers discovered the adolescent lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the torso and left leg. His condition at Comer Children’s Hospital is described as “critical,” and he was brought there, according to the police.

The Near South Side was the scene of a gunshot that injured a lady and a Cook County prison officer.

Officials from the Chicago Fire Department claimed that at around 1 a.m., paramedics were sent to the 100 block of East Cermak Road.

The person said the 31-year-old prison officer for Cook County was wounded in the back and arms and taken to Stroger Hospital.

Chicago police reported that a 27-year-old woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with graze wounds to the face and legs. She was in a serious to fair condition, according to the fire department.
