Chicago police say they found the body of a 58-year-old woman with apparent head trauma in her South Shore neighborhood apartment on Monday afternoon.
The victim was discovered in an apartment on the 7200 block of South Jeffery Avenue around 5 p.m. Monday with severe head trauma. The medical examiner ruled her dead at the scene.
The woman’s identity remained unknown as of Tuesday morning.
The police have opened a murder probe.
