The American science fiction action-adventure limited series Andor, commonly referred to as Star Wars: Andor, was developed by Tony Gilroy for the Disney+ streaming service. It is a prequel to both the 2016 spin-off movie Rogue One.
And the original Star Wars movie, making it the fourth live-action series in the Star Wars universe (1977). The series follows Cassian Andor, a former burglar turned Rebel agent, over the five years that precede the events of the aforementioned two movies.
The series depicts an ensemble cast of people during the time when a Rebel Alliance is developing in opposition to the Galactic Empire, starting five years before the events of Rogue One (2016) and A New Hope (1977). Andor Season 2 confirmed
It should come as no surprise that Andor has been given a second season on Disney+ given that Star Wars fans and critics alike believe that the show is undoubtedly the greatest Star Wars Disney+ has to offer. It was relatively early on in the game that it was decided that Andor would be getting a second season.
And it was also decided that it would be the series’s last episode. Due to the fact that the events of Andor season 2 lead directly into those of Rogue One, Cassian’s tale can now be finished off in an official capacity owing to the Star Wars standalone film Rogue One.

Andor Season 2 storyline
In a previous interview, Gilroy revealed that when Season 2 returns, the story will make its first time jump, moving forward a year after the finale, before exploring one-year spans of Cassian’s life, which will play out across three episode blocks. This will be the first time that the show has made a time jump.
Luna went into greater detail on how Gilroy arrived at this story structure while she was discussing with Nemiroff. She mentioned that earlier, they had discussed a 5-season storyline for Andor, before it became evident that it wasn’t really practical. Nemiroff was there for this conversation.
Andor Season 2 release date
On August 31, 2022, the first episode of the first season of Andor aired. It has already been decided to continue for a second season, even before the first episode of the new season has aired, and it is anticipated that the new season will debut some time in 2023.
The upcoming season will similarly have 12 episodes, although the total amount of time each one will run has not been specified. Disney Platform Distribution is in charge of the show’s distribution at this time.
