The Tesla Cybertruck is set to be one of the most eye-catching new trucks for at least the next few decades. There is currently no set release date for the all-electric pickup truck, if it ever arrives at all.
But despite looking like it was made by a PS1-era game designer with a personal animosity against curves, Elon Musk’s pet project still seems to have everything that makes a Tesla a Tesla.

Current Information On Tesla’s Cybertruck
It has been reported that a Cybertruck prototype has been seen driving through the streets of Palo Alto, California.

Since then, the corporation has delayed the start of production three times, first to late 2021, then to early 2022, and now to the middle of 2023.
With the release of the Cybertruck, Tesla will have a challenger to electric pickups from companies like Ford Motor Co (F.N) and Rivian Automotive (RIVN.O), both of which have released models in still-limited numbers, and an entrant in one of the most profitable segments of the U.S. market.
Musk postponed the release of the Cybertruck to 2023 in January due to delays in obtaining components.
This past May, Tesla stopped accepting orders for the Cybertruck from locations outside of North America.
Musk said at the time, paraphrased here, that demand for the initial Cybertrucks far outpaced supply for the first three years of production.
Introducing a completely new model to production, like the Cybertruck, may be a slow process for automakers.
Although Tesla has been selling every vehicle it produces so far, analysts have warned that the worsening global economy may start to weigh on sales in the near future.
Musk has predicted that the upcoming slump will endure “probably through Spring of ’24.”

DRA Group
Last week, IDRA Group, the Italian manufacturer of the Giga Press that will be used for die casting parts for the Cybertruck, announced on LinkedIn that the 9,000-ton equipment for truck part production was packed and ready to delivery.
Tesla was not specifically mentioned in the post. Toyota and other manufacturers have taken notice of Tesla’s use of the Giga Press to simplify and reduce the price of making the Model Y.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk Tweeted in March 2020 that the company has begun scouting places for Cybertruck production and planned to build the truck in “central USA.”

Manufacturer in Texas (Gigafactory)
We here at Electrek were the first to break the news that Tesla’s future factory would be situated in Austin, Texas, back in May of 2020.
In July of the following year, Tesla formally filed for and received a tax credit for the Austin location of the Gigafactory.
Until we discovered that Tesla intends to construct the Model Y there, the factory was known as the Cybertruck Gigafactory. Then, the automaker rebranded the facility as “Gigafactory Texas.”
When the Gigafactory in Texas finally opens, Tesla will produce the Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck, and Tesla Semi.
As seen in a recent drone overhead video, Giga Texas appears to be nearing completion.
