David Koresh was a prominent American cult leader who was instrumental in the events that transpired during the siege of Waco in 1993. David Koresh early life
On August 17, 1959, in Houston, Texas, Vernon Wayne Howell was born to a 14-year-old single mother named Bonnie Sue Clark and a father named Bobby Wayne Howell. Before Koresh was born, his father had a relationship with another teenage girl and left Bonnie Sue, who had started living with a violent alcoholic.
In 1963, Koresh’s mother moved out of the house with her lover, leaving her four-year-old son in the care of Earline Clark, his maternal grandmother. After his mother wed Roy Haldeman, a carpenter, she came back when he was seven. Roger was the name of Bonnie Sue and Haldeman’s son, who was born in 1966.

David Koresh joined Brand Davidians
By 1983, Koresh had joined the “Brand Davidians” (Branch Davidian), an offshoot of the Seventh Day Adventist Church that was started in 1934 by former Seventh Day Adventist Victor Houteff. Koresh came under the direction of Lois Roden, who succeeded Houteff as head after his passing in 1955 along with her husband Benjamin Roden.
Vernon Howell changed his identity to David Koresh in 1990. Two years later, he had gained control of the group, promoting the use of firearms and spreading a more extreme form of end-of-the-world prophecy. He started amassing weapons and ammo because he thought the gang would someday come under attack from the American government.
Former devotees claimed that Koresh genuinely believed he was on a mission from God and was the only person capable of explaining to the general public the actual meanings of the bible.

David Koresh and Waco Massacre
An investigation conducted by Congress came to the conclusion that Koresh and his followers were responsible for starting the fire on April 19, 1993, when FBI tanks were trying to end a standoff with the group at the group’s Mount Carmel Center near Waco, Texas compound by using tear gas. The standoff had been going on for 51 days. The tragic event became known as the Waco massacre after it occurred.
David Koresh accused of child sexual abuse
Koresh was accused of participating in numerous instances of child abuse, both physically and sexually. His House of David doctrine did influence the Branch Davidians to “marry” married and unmarried women. This ideology was based on an alleged revelation that called for 24 children to be born by selected women in the neighbourhood.
The twenty-four ruling elders who would oversee the millennium following Christ’s second coming were to be these twenty-four offspring. At least one minor girl, Michelle Jones, who was the younger sister of Koresh’s legal wife Rachel and the child of steadfast Branch Davidians Perry and Mary Belle Jones, was among the ladies allegedly selected under this concept.

Death of David Koresh
According to Judge David Pareya, a justice of the peace in charge of the investigation into the killings of the cult members, Mr. Koresh’s severely charred body was discovered in the ruins of the group’s property. He also mentioned that Mr. Koresh’s head was fragmented.
If Mr. Koresh, 33, had been slain or if he had committed suicide, the officials would not disclose. According to the officials, the bullet wound was in the middle of his forehead.
According to Mr. Pareya, his body was discovered all by itself next to the compound’s kitchen and communications area. The precise time of Mr. Koresh’s death was not disclosed by the authorities.

During the chaos, Koresh, who was 33 at the time, was shot in the head and died as a result of the injury. It is not known if he took his own life or was murdered; both possibilities cannot be ruled out.
