The seminal Band of Gypsys album came out in the middle of 1970, and in 1999, an enhanced version of the album Hendrix: Live at the Fillmore East was released.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Reformed As A Trio Consisting Of Jimi,

Drummer Mitch Mitchell, And Bassist Billy Cox As 1970 Continued.

The band has been hard at work in the studio, laying down tracks for a new double album that will likely be named First Rays of the New Rising Sun.

Due to his rigorous worldwide touring schedule and untimely death on September 18, 1970, Hendrix was unable to see this musical vision through to completion.

Because to the efforts of Hendrix’s family and the album’s original studio engineer, Eddie Kramer, the album’s intended recordings were finally released in 1997 under the title First Rays Of The New Rising Sun.
