The congressman said in a statement posted to social media on Tuesday that his family was “completely heartbroken” by her passing on Monday night.

Since 2019, Garcia has represented Illinois’ 4th Congressional District in Congress. He came in at #4 in Chicago’s mayoral race in 2023.
