A “domestic-related incident” was cited as the cause of the commotion. According to the eyewitnesses, there were no obvious signs that it was a terrorist attack.

At around 11:25 a.m. Central Standard Time on Wednesday, a frightening occurrence occurred, prompting the dispatch of police to the Trump International Hotel and Tower.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that law enforcement sources said they believed the event was domestic in origin and not tied to terrorism.

The woman, according to the publication, entered the 100-story structure and proceeded to the 27th floor.

The 98-story structure on North Wabash Avenue required the presence of armed police.

The Trumps were not suspected to have any involvement in the incident.

The Sun-Times said that a woman called police and asked for help because she was “tired of being abused by her husband.” The police were dispatched to the 27th level of the building.

A Trump Tower resident said on local radio station WBBM that he had gone outside to get some fresh air and was met by armed police officers.

“I was just doing some housework and some cooking and I decided to take some air,” an eyewitness who lived in Trump Tower told a local radio station. Continuing, he said, “I came down to the lobby and was quickly escorted away from the lobby, out of the building, and told not to come back until it was clear.”

He “asked several times what was going on and they wouldn’t acknowledge,” the man added. The Chicago Police Department stated that this was an isolated incident and that the public was not in danger.
