American professional basketball player Enes Kanter has suited up for a number of different clubs in the NBA. The Turkish footballer was born in Zurich, Switzerland on May 20th, 1992.

He was drafted into the NBA in 2011 and immediately made his way into teams. As the 3rd overall pick, Enes was taken by the Utah Jazz. After that, he suited up for a wide variety of NBA squads, such as the Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, and Oklahoma City Thunder.

He spent one season on the high school basketball team. From 2008 till 2015, Enes Kanter played basketball internationally for the Turkish national team.

Origins Of Enes Kanter

The son of Turkish immigrants, Enes Kanter was raised in Switzerland. Kanter was born in Turkey, and when he was 17 years old, he moved to the USA with his family. Mehmet Kanter Sr. was a genetics and histology professor at Trakya University.

At the University of Zurich, Mehmet earned his medical degree. Enes’s mom, Gulsum Kanter, works as a nurse. Enes also has two younger brothers and a younger sister. His English skills were honed by watching Jersey Shore & SpongeBob SquarePants, he says.

Before Enes Kanter moved to the United States in 2009, he was a basketball star at his former high school. Aside from the NBA, he also played in the EuroLeague and the Turkish Basketball League. Both Fenerbahce and Olympiacos extended professional contracts to Kanter.

He turned down the offers in order to pursue his dream of playing collegiate basketball in the United States. Enes went to schools with ties to the Hizmet movement. After settling in Ankara for a while, he made the move to Istanbul to pursue a professional basketball career.

Enes Kanter’s Education

Findley School in Henderson, who was Nevada was Enes Kanter’s first school; he then transferred to Appalachian State College in Beckley. Due to the agreement he had with Nike, however, neither school would let him play secondary school basketball for them.

Kanter enrolled in Stoneridge Preparatory School in Simi Valley, California, thereafter. During the 2009–10 basketball season, Kanter was a member of the team.

On the other hand, Enes Kanter scored 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Team International at the 2010 Adidas Hoops Summit. It set a new standard for the occasion. Both Scout and Rivals gave Enes Kanter their top rating (5 stars).

However, the following year, Kanter signed an NCAA Letter of The intent to play university basketball for Kentucky, despite having previously committed to Washington University. However, the NCAA ruled Kanter permanently ineligible due to the approximately USD 33,000 he received from Fenerbahce.

Enes Kanter’s Nba Experience

After the 2008–09 season, Enes Kanter, for example played for Fenerbahce before making the jump to the NBA. As a member of the squad, he participated in nine contests, four of which were played in the EuroLeague & 5 in the Turkish Premier League.

After that, in the 2011 the National Basketball Association draft, Kanter was selected by the Utah Jazz. On December 9, 2011, he signed a rookie deal with the Jazz.

Furthermore, Enes turned the 10th rookie in Jazz franchise history to appear in every regular season game in 2011-12. Kanter appeared in 66 games this season, averaging 4.6 scores and 4.2 rebounds.

Over the course of 70 games in 2012–13, Enes on average 7.2 points as well as 4.3 rebounds. He accomplished his first 20-20 performance against the Charlotte Bobcats, scoring 23 points and grabbing 22 rebounds in a victory.

The dislocation of Kanter’s left shoulder caused him to sit out the last ten matches of that season. His 2013–14 stats were 12.3 points per game and 7.5 boards each contest in 80 games played.

On March 3 over the Milwaukee Bucks, Enes scored a career-high 27 points. Against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 16, 2014, Kanter scored a career-high 29 points.
