Despite the fact that Gege Akutami’s manga and the subsequent anime center on the theme of curses, the events in Jujutsu Kaisen are anything from ominous.
Since its debut in March of 2018, the manga that inspired this series has quickly risen to the ranks of best-sellers, and the anime adaptation is also setting new benchmarks in terms of popularity thanks in large part to the success of the latest installment, the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
But where will Yuji and company go from here? If you want to know what to expect from the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, Digital Spy has you covered.
When Is The Premiere?
On July 6, 2023, season two of Jujutsu Kaisen will premiere. The release date and the expanded teaser video shown above were both announced in March via the official Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account.
This revelation comes after many reports concerning the next season’s format. At the TOHO production company’s 10-year anniversary celebration in September 2022.
It was announced that season two would be split into two parts, or cours, with each part covering a different story arc from the manga. Anime series like SPY x FAMILY have also adopted a split-season release plan.
Two teaser photographs provide us hints about what will happen in those arcs. ‘The Shibuya Incident’ has our contemporary characters Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki, while ‘Jutsu High’ shows our classic heroes Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru, and Shoko Ieiri in their Jutsu High outfits (suggesting a precursor arc).

Yuta Okkotsu, the show’s protagonist, is in danger, however. An after-credits sequence in the prequel film, as well as the manga, clearly imply that he will soon make an appearance in the main program.
In response to our inquiry, English voice actress Kayleigh McKee said as much: I’d be over the moon if it occurred. If Yuta were to return, I would be extremely interested in seeing how he has grown and changed, but I have no idea where he will go from here.
This is one of my favorite characters that I’ve played, so the idea that I might be able to portray him going through more changes is exciting. That’s what I’m hoping for, anyhow.

Season 2 Of Jujutsu Kaisen’s Storyline
After the events of the Blood Painting Arc (chapters 55-64) in the manga, Jujutsu Kaisen finished its first season. It has been revealed that episodes 65–79, known as “Gojo’s Past Arc,” would serve as the jumping-on point for season two of the anime adaptation.
The Shibuya Incident arc of the manga will see us back at Jujutsu High, as shown by the trailers and teaser photos released for it.
Without giving too much away, we can assume that season two will include significant growth for many main characters and the revelation of the school’s mole’s true identity.
Also, in the film’s post-credits scene, we get the impression that Yuta is on his way, which is great in theory but, well, let’s just say it doesn’t indicate well for Yuji.
