After Monday’s thrilling 2-2 draw in the English Premier League, both Leicester as well as Everton stayed in serious relegation danger.

Everton remains in second-to-last position thanks to a point scored by Alex Iwobi on a volley in the 54th minute. With four games remaining, Everton is hoping to continue its 69-year run in the Premier League.

Former league champion Leicester City rose out of the bottom three, but only because of their superior goal differential against Leeds and Nottingham Forest. All three clubs are now one point ahead of Everton. Forest fell to the bottom of the league table.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin put Everton ahead with a penalty kick in the 15th minute after he was fouled by Timothy Castagne.

After fellow central defender Wout Faes walked the ball back throughout the face of goal, Caglar Soyuncu hooked in a finish that he slipped to tie the game in the 22nd minute.

In the 33rd minute, Jamie Vardy gave Leicester the lead when James Maddison sent a through ball behind Everton’s defense. Vardy then sprinted past Everton’s keeper Jordan Pickford in the process and scored.

At the end of a wild first half, Calvert-Lewin missed a sitter from three meters out, and then Leicester countered, with Vardy slamming a shot off the crossbar for the Foxes.

Just seconds later, Everton’s captain, Seamus Coleman, went down with what looked like a serious leg injury after being tackled by Boubakary Soumare.

We’ll wait and see,” Everton coach Sean Dyche said after initial reports weren’t encouraging. It’s a shame to lose him since he’s been great.

Michael Keane of Everton stopped a cross by Harvey Barnes’s team with his extended arm, but Maddison’s penalty attempt was saved by Redford in the eighth minutes of stoppage time.

Second-Half Equalizer By Iwobi

On TV, we can see that Pickford keeps score of where Youri Tielemans, Jamie Vardy, and James Maddison have all placed their penalty kicks.

Maddison’s penalty kick went straight down the centre, just as the stats predicted, and Pickford had no trouble saving it. The England goalie boasted, “I done my homework.”

Vardy had a header saved off the goal line and went inches wide with an attempt after Pickford had been dispossessed while trying to clear beyond his area following Iwobi’s equalizer. Leicestershire had more of the opportunities after the equalizer.

Everton’s next four games are very challenging, as they are away at Brighton, at home against Manchester City, at Wolverhampton, and at home against Bournemouth.

The remaining four games for Leicester will be against Fulham, Liverpool, Newcastle, and West Ham.

“We knew today’s outcome wouldn’t dictate what happens,” Dean Smith, Leicester’s interim manager, said. We’re no longer in the worst three. There are four games left, and a total of 12 points are at stake.

Vardy Reverses The Clock

Michael Keane, attempting to prevent Barnes’ cross with an outstretched arm in first-half stoppage time, gave away a penalty, adding to Everton’s defensive chaos. But Maddison shot Pickford in the face with his penalty kick, giving Everton new hope.

The stop was a credit to England’s Pickford, the goalkeeper. Images of a water bottle at the bottom of the net with notes regarding possible Leicester penalties takers, including “James Madison – Stay – sixty percent of the centre,” were shown on television.

I prepared for the test. This morning I decided where I was going ahead of time. He’s a terrific player, so he probably thought I was going to make a move, but I multiply-bluffed him,” Pickford said.

Vardy had a header cleared off the line and James Tarkowski in the last moments, and Iversen made a stop at Calvert-Lewin’s feet before turning away Abdoulaye Doucoure’s rocket.
