Sunny Deol Returns as Fauji in Border 2, 27 Years After the Original Release

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the much-awaited sequel of his iconic film Border. Titled ‘Border 2’, the film will see Sunny reprising his role as an Indian Army officer after a span of 27 years.

Sharing the news with fans, Sunny posted a video in which he can be seen dressed in army uniform and saying “Fauji is back” while standing in front of a tank. He captioned the video, “Raising the flag #newbeginnings #border2.”

The first installment of the Border franchise, released in 1997, was a blockbuster hit and is still considered one of the most iconic war films in Indian cinema. Directed by JP Dutta, the film also starred renowned actors like Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Pooja Bhatt.

The makers have not revealed much about the plot or cast of ‘Border 2’ yet but it is expected to be an action-packed patriotic drama just like its predecessor. Fans are eagerly waiting for more updates on the film which is expected to release next year.

Sunny Deol was last seen in the film Blank which released in 2019. He also directed and acted in the sequel of his popular film Ghayal, titled ‘Ghayal Once Again’ in 2016. The actor has always been known for his impactful roles and it will be exciting to see him back as an army man on screen after so many years.
